JCaly is a San Francisco Bay Area DJ whose sets live at the intersection of electronic music, hip-hop and R&B. Rather than staying inside a single genre, his approach centers on smooth grooves, deliberate transitions, crate digging and building energy through storytelling. His relationship with DJing began during the early digital-music and iPod era from a simple desire to find and play good music. He began mixing on a Numark controller in 2013, eventually moving onto Pioneer equipment and club CDJs. Influenced by artists ranging from Kaytranada, Daft Punk and Dr. Dre to Chris Lake, Skrillex, Fred again.. and Martin Garrix, JCaly’s selections can move from soulful lounge music and disco through house and tech house before reaching garage, bass and heavier electronic territory.
